Converted from
an unsold Comet 4C airframe at Chester, XV148 was the first Nimrod
to fly, making its first flight on May 23, 1967.
The aircraft was powered by Rolls-Royce RB163-20 Spey engines and
assumed the role of aerodynamic test aircraft.
