Until the no-fly
exclusion zone was put in place around the country's nuclear power
stations, Middleton Sands was a popular
day-out venue for many aviators, both microlights and light aircraft.
Going back to the early 'fifties there was a flying
training company based nearby with Austers, and Avro Ansons. [Photo:
